"Well, I think we see a mix these days of young ladies, 18-, 19-, 20-year-olds who clearly are aware of the potential of pursuing a glamorous modeling career," says Playboy honcho , who was trolling here last week.

"They certainly are aware of 's television show, and … they see this as an exciting, glamorous thing to do. Then you have your women in their 30s who are more comfortable with their sexuality and their bodies.

"And to try out, and be accepted by us, is a real validation at this point in their life. There was a woman here who was a grandmother at 43 years old, and she had a great body."

"I think Playboy, with the class that it has, is attractive to people like me — professionals," she says. "It's a classy, stylish, hip magazine. I'm proud to be a part of it; I love it. I wish they'd come to Arkansas."

Her parents' take: "They don't care — I'm an only child — and they're proud of whatever I do. My dad's always been a fan of Playboy anyway."

This year's — not the cattle drive, mind you — will be grand-marshaled by KC's most famous bugle blower, longtime bandleader/90-something .

"She is a big deal," says Rainy Day-meister . "She has a retrospective on her work coming out, 20 years of her photographs. She never comes out; it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

Former Sen. of Missouri will descend Sept. 28 for his book Faith and Politics — same night tackles more or less the same subject for the International Relations Council's annual dinner. The former U.N. ambassador's book: The Mighty and the Almighty.

One reader was taken aback by KC Magazine's invitation to a party recently. Behind the words "Extreme Heat Advisory" was a photo of a pair of clothesless senior citizens in a rather racy pose. The man is embracing the woman's chest from behind, with both sporting expressions of joy on their kissers.
