"If It Don't Make Dollas, It Don't Make Sense!" Dawn "Lady $ Dolla" Harrington aka "Scarface" tells MemphisRap.com in an exclusive interview. Straight from the streetz of North Nashville and referred to as a "Gangsta Bitch" by her own admission, Lady Dolla is packed to the brim with clever lyrics and heartfelt cries. First hitting the stage in 1997, with then group Wyldstylz, which consisted of two male rappers (Trauma T & AZ) and Lady Dolla, she performed throughout Middle Tennessee. After Wyldstylz, Lady Dolla would later work with other groups, as well as the label, Playaway Entertainment, headed by her childhood friends, Lonell Mathews and producer, Street Symphony, BlockLife Records, F.A.M. Records, Black Juice, Shune, Big Fella, P. Moses, and F.O.D. She quickly made a name for herself and gained recognition, opening for artists such as Layzie Bone, Yo Gotti, and Gangsta Boo.

Now today, with one solo album, "Scarface", in stores now, Lady Dolla is preparing to release "Scarface II" featuring the hot new single and video, "Ride That," both available for download at MemphisRap.com. Lady Dolla is also in preproduction for her movie SCARS which is scheduled for a 2007 release. A senior at Middle Tennessee State University, studying Recording Industry, with an emphasis on Music Business with a minor in Public Relations, Lady Dolla also wears many hats at the record label, Chopper City Records, LLC. in New Orleans, Louisiana and now also in Detroit, MI where she has climbed the corporate ladder to her position as Asst. to the President/CEO & Booking coordinator for the Original Hot Boy B.G. and The Chopper City Family, who recently just landed a 7 figure label deal with Atlantic Records.

Read as Lady Dolla chops it up with MemphisRap.com' co-founder, C. Littlejohn, in a brief but in-depth interview about her new video, album, job at Chopper City and her life as a college student, artist, CEO and owner of her own label Dollas N Sense Entertainment.

MemphisRap.com: Now you're the Assistant to the President/CEO & Booking Coordinator for Chopper City Records, LLC in New Orleans and also Detroit, MI. which consists of B.G. and The Chopper City Family. How did you end up working along side B.G.?

Lady Dolla: I went to school at Middle Tennessee State University where I studied Recording Industry with an emphasis in Music Business and minoring in Public Relations & Entrepreneurship. When it came time for me to find an internship, I put in resumes at a couple of Southern Record labels such as Slip N Slide and Def Jam South. I ended up running with Chopper City because of the way that I was received by Carol, BG and the entire Chopper City Family. Its a lot of love over there…they opened their doors and arms and made me a part of their fam. I started as an intern and in 6 months I was hired on as Public Relations & Marketing/Promotions Staff. Last year I got a promotion to Assistant to the President/CEO & Booking Coordinator.

MemphisRap.com: A lot of peeps may have heard of you and others may have not, tell our readers, in your own words, who is Lady Dolla and what you represent?

Lady Dolla: Lady Dolla is a gangsta and a businesswoman, and a go-getter all in one, but Im a Lady first and foremost. I handle my business and personal in a way that can be respected. I was given my name years ago by a nigga named Bullet from representin the essence of Cashville by being a true hustla. And I still keep my money on my mind so Im just minding my business, ya feel me…If it don't make dollas, it don't make sense!

Lady Dolla: Dollas N Sense Entertainment is my baby. I am working on several projects to be released under this company from mixtapes to albums to movies to documentaries to calendars and workout videos so stay tuned. Dollas N Sense Entertainment is going to make waves in the industry for years to come. Its not just a record label, it is a movement. If it don't make dollas, it don't make sense!

MemphisRap.com: Your motto is "If It Dont Make Dollas, It Dont Make Sense!" How did you end up using this popular southern phrase as your motto?

Lady Dolla: “If It Don't Make Dollas, It Don't Make Sense!” had to be my motto because it explains the way I handle my business. Yeah Im doing this shit because I love music, I love to write, record and perform. But, I wouldn't be doing this shit as a career if I didn't feel I could make a good living for myself by doing it, ya feel me? It would just be a hobby. Since this is my career choice I gotta go hard or go home…and I got to keep in mind no matter how glamorous or fabulous this job can be, aint no fame gonna pay my bills. I got to always hustle and handle my business to where I am constantly increasing my bottom line, ya feel me. I have met a lot of people in the industry and you would be surprised how many of your favorite celebs that you see on TV are still struggling. They are poppin bottles and tags and doing it real big in their videos but aint got shit to show for it. I aint trying to be like that so I operate my business by that motto, “If It Don't Make Dollas, It Don't Make Sense!” Im out here trying to get it for real!

MemphisRap.com: I had the opportunity to listen to some of your tracks, I couldn't help but notice that you say in the rap song "Ride That" you're a Gangsta Bitch. Do you really think of yourself as a Gangsta Bitch and why?

MemphisRap.com: Your album "Lady Dolla SCARFACE" is already in stores and you're about to release "SCARFACE II" in April. Do you have an actual release date on the album yet?

Lady Dolla: No but it will be definitely be April. I will make sure that MemphisRap.com is among the first to know when I get the date. But I can definitely tell you this…the album is HOT as FUCK! You Got to check it out!

MemphisRap.com: You're actually in preproduction for your movie SCARS which is scheduled for a 2007 release. Can you ellaborate on that and give me some insight what the movie will be about?

Lady Dolla: SCARS is about the different trials and tribulations that you encounter in your life and is based on my struggle. The movie is action packed just like my life. SCARS is the visual to my albums SCARFACE & SCARFACE II. So if you heard SCARFACE you can imagine how the movie is gonna be.

MemphisRap.com: Madd love to you! You're actually a senior in college at MTSU majoring in Recording Industry focusing on Music Business and minoring in Public Relations. I'm glad to see that you're accomplishing such a hard task.

MemphisRap.com: Many people don't actually know how hard it is trying to stay focus and stay in college and then deal with other things around you. How hard has it been for you trying to juggle being an artist and going to college and tending to your personal life and being in the Music/Entertainment Industry?

Lady Dolla: It has been really hard I aint even gonna lie. I live the life of 3 different people because Chopper City is a full time job, Dollas N Sense Ent & Lady Dolla is a full time job and school and making sure Dawn Harrington is personally straight is a full time job. No matter how much I accomplish in a day, every night when I go to sleep I drift asleep thinking bout the hundreds of things that I didn't get done that day. You got to really believe in the goals you are trying to reach in order to live a life like I do. That's what keeps me going…my faith in God and belief in myself.
